Relax and view the scenic beauty of a ride on the Alaska Railroad. With the comfortable seating, large picture windows and the scenic views, you will be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife and beautiful views of Denali National Park.

After leaving the Denali Park area, you will enter the scenic Nenana River Canyon. See one of the world's longest single-span bridges as the train crosses the Tanana River just before reaching Fairbanks. It was here, at the west end of the 702-foot bridge, that President Harding drove the final spike completing the railroad in 1923.

In 2005 the Alaska Railroad introduced a service featuring double decked dome rail cars that feature a confirmed seat in the viewing upper level, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages served at your seat, a special GoldStar gift, priority check-in and boarding, priority seating in the lower level dining room, and a private viewing deck.

The Alaska Railroad operates only one daily train in each direction between Anchorage and Fairbanks, stopping along the way in Talkeetna and Denali National Park. We recommend the standard class for its generous seating and the ability to easily walk between different cars. The Private service is for full-time Dome seating and improved viewing. The GoldStar Dome is the top-of-the-line rail service featuring the largest picture windows and the finest dining options.

The Denali Railroad features informative tour guides, and diner cars that offer casual and relaxed atmosphere for all. There is also a dome viewing car which passengers may enjoy on a shared, rotating basis. The railroad is accessible to wheelchairs, with special ramps at the depots and provisions on the coaches for occupied wheel chairs.
